Specimen #018 – Scarlet Confession is the most unapologetically passionate piece in the collection — a full red enamel poppy with layered petals and a brilliant-cut white crystal at its heart, paired with a sculptural gold wheat-branch on the opposite end of an open gold band. The poppy's surface is lacquered to a high gloss; it demands to be seen.

The red enamel is deep and true — not orange-red, not pink-red, but the exact red of something said too loudly in a quiet room. The gold wheat cluster opposite is textural and architectural, its bobbled surface catching light in the opposite register to the smooth poppy. The open band is polished gold, spare and clean beneath the drama above.
