Specimen #030 – Sunrise Lotus

Dawn comes in orange. So does everything worth beginning.

Specimen #030 – Sunrise Lotus captures the exact temperature of early morning — a cream-and-coral open lotus bloom with a textured gold centre dominates one end of the open gold band, while opposite it, a small orange enamel teardrop bud emerges from deep green leaves like the first fruit of the season. The band is polished to a warm gold that echoes the sunrise palette.

The lotus has eight petals in graduated cream-to-coral enamel, each petal edge turned slightly upward as if still lifting toward the sun. The gold centre is granulated and raised — a texture that photographs as rich as hammered metal. The orange teardrop bud opposite is smooth and sealed, full of something not yet revealed.
